#DouglassWeek 2025
Mark your calendars for this year's upcoming #DouglassWeek, happening September 28th to October 4th. #DouglassWeek is “a collaborative event series celebrating the work and life of Frederick Douglass in different countries around the world”. The schedule of events was released earlier this week, and this year, The Frederick Douglass Papers' own Professor John Kaufman-McKivigan will be hosting two of the #DouglassWeek events online. These are just two of the amazing events being held for #DouglassWeek this year and you can explore the full schedule at the link below.
According to the #DouglassWeek website, the programming this year “focuses on exploring the Douglass family legacy in Massachusetts and commemorating the 180th anniversary of Frederick Douglass' journey from Boston to Ireland in 1845 for a book and lecture tour of the British Isles. Douglass departed Boston Harbor on the steamship Cambria on August 6, 1845 and arrived in Dublin on August 31, 1845.”
There are so many great events and discussions planned for this year's #DouglassWeek, with events being held every day in person in Boston and live online. Check out the flyer and calendar and get involved with #DouglassWeek this year!
